How does this sync? Does it require a data plan?

kidquick – Yes – this requires a data plan. If you dont have unlimited data i highly suggest you install MoDaCo No Data so you dont accidently use Data when trying out different applications.
If an application has to go out onto the internet to get information, its going to be using data. (Google products are all internet based)

@kidquick: Even though this is a bit late (by more than a year…) others may benefit from this. After much research I found that if you want an alternative given no Data plan is available, you could sync Google calendar and gmail to Mozilla Thunderbird and Sunbird (on your PC), then download Birdie Sync… well, if you’re interested, I’ve posted it on the forums:
