CHome Configurator
The folks over at Smartphone: Nuts & Bolts have put together a great app that lets you configure the sliding panels on your Blackjack II running WM6.1. CHome Configurator lets you add, remove and re-order the sliding panels on your homescreen. You can even “Dock” the top item (which I by default the Clock) so it always shows. I really like this because it lets me know the time regardless of the slide i’m on.

CHome Configurator even lets you create new custom sliding panels (thought I haven’t played around long enough with it to figure out how to do this).
For more information on how to configure CHome Configurator, check out this thread in the forums.
This is a excellent program and thrill that the good people at Nuts & Bolts put it together and are letting us all use it for free!
Thanks to pixelsblur and jjnbm for making a note of this app in the forums!

I made an addon icon pack for CHome Configurator that includes:
Activesync
Alarms
At&t Navigator
Beejive
Dashwire
Garmin Mobile XT
Google Maps
Skyfire
Skype
All are either the actual icons converted to pngs or some are made from scratch by me becuase I couldn’t find the real icons. Anyways, if you want to see them, check the forums post here:

can someone post more simple instructions on how to do this, because i think a lot of people would really like to customize their home screen, but the instructions are a headache.

Here’s the easy way of doing it:
For Page title, i just did the same as above (i dont think it really matters, it doesnt affect the panel)
1) Start the program.
2) Click Menu/Panel/New/Yes
3) Name Your new panel/click ok
4) It will take you back to your panel list. Scroll down to your new panel and click SHOW.
5) On your new panel click Menu/Panel/Customize
6) Then click MENU/Page/New/Yes
7) For collasped title, I just put in Google Maps for my new panel.
9) Heres the hardest part: Go down to ACTION URL. Click Menu/Insert URL. The hard part of this step is looking through your programs to find the one your looking for. For instance, I made one for Goggle maps. I had to go into Program Files/Google Maps and select the maps program button. Once you get in and start looking around, its fairly easy.
10) Soft key 2 text and url i havent quite figured out yet.
11) As for the picture tab, it just puts a little icon on the panel. Best way to do this is to download the picture pack cab. and run it. Its the same steps as the Action URL. Menu/Insert URL, click on the pic you want.
12) When all of this is done, click done. You have a new panel.
Now, to remove panels, you highlight the panel you want remove, and click HIDE. You can move them up or down through the menu button. Before you exit, make sure the new panel or panels you have created are in BOLD letters. When all that is done, YOU MUST EXIT THROUGH THE MENU/EXIT BUTTON. Doing that activates all your new panel changes. I figured this out through trial and error. Maybe the guys that made the program have a better way of doing it, but this worked for me. Hope this helps.

Is there anyway to select a general folder such as storage card? I want to create a panel for the storage card so that I can have access to it from the home screen.

Follow the directions above to make a new panel. Then, your Action URL (or Softkey 2 URL) should be: \Windows\fexplore.exe; \Storage Card to open the the main folder for the card. You can use this formula for any folder on your phone. This is an excellent program, if anyone needs help I would be glad to do what I can.

cobaltssdriver, im not sure about changing the Pictures directory (you might try the Forum link referenced in the post) — What “loading” error are you getting? I haven’t run into/heard of this error. Can you describe when it occurs and what the error says?

Error while loading from the registry
InvaldiOperationException

I’m getting the same error. I also get an error when I try to save or exit from the program. Sometimes it says “unable to save to the registry” and other times it says “unable to generate an error message, as the operation that generates error messages is not operating.”
I have already installed the MoDaCo GPS/registry unlocker.

hey guys, i have run into both of the load/save errors with mine. From what Ive seen, it hasn’t made any difference in creating new slides on MY phone. Your’s might different. I just try to ignore them. I’m just an amature computer nerd here.

Luke-
Hasn’t worked on my phone. I’ve tried a couple different ways to save new slides, but they never show up. I haven’t deleted the app yet, as I’m hoping someone will be able to at least give us an idea of what’s happening.
I’ll try again, though, and see if I can make things work.

I can’t read all of the saving error message as the windows logo covers it up until i press ok…any suggestions.

Help, I am about to give up. When I try down download the software from my phone, I get an error message saying that header info is missing. So I put it on my laptop and then moved it over to my phone. Now when I try to run the software, I get a different error message “Error while loading from the registry InvalidOperationException.” I have read on several sites that you can ignore the message and continue as normal. However, I cannot.
I am giving this thing 48 more hours, and them I am giving up after that. I am so frustrated. If you can help that would be awesome!

First off, I have to say thanks to David for this site. I have installed probably 8 or 9 upgrades to my phone (including 6.1) thanks to this site alone and I have fallen in love with my BJ2 all over again, so I decided to donate to the site in appreciation. One question I do have involving this download is this….I decided to “hide” the panel that has all of the IM and Express Mail, etc icons on the home screen, but I hit “delete” instead of “hide”. Now I have no idea how to get that panel back. If anyone can help me with this, I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
