Finally – an automated method for copying SIM Contacts to the Outlook Contact list!! This application is GREAT for folks moving to a Blackjack 2 and have all their contacts on their SIM card!
I ran it and it dumped all the contacts from my SIM card to my Outlook contact list without any problems!
To use this program:
- Install the CAB file
- Start > Accessories > m2SimCopy
- Don’t be alarmed that some of the text is cut off, this program was developed for the Pocket PC but works just fine on the Blackjack 2
- Options > Do Copy!
- Let m2SimCopy run, it will alert you to the total number of SIM contacts that have been copied over when it’s finished running.
- Exit the m2SimCopy
- Check your Contact List
- If everything look good, go through and manually delete your SIM contacts from your Contact List
After I completed the migration of contacts I deleted m2SimCopy (Start > Settings > Remove Programs) since I figured I’d never need to use it again.
Big thanks to Mike for finding this gem — and big thanks to Marauder for creating this handy little app.

I just did this with WM 6.1, so you can mark it as compatible
also, you might want to make note that if you go to
*settings > phone > All Calls > call options*
and uncheck “show sim Contacts” so you wont have to manually delete the contacts from your sim card, and so you will have a backup of contacts on your sim card

what’s a CAB?

jbaby, a CAB is an packaged installer for Windows Mobile phones. CAB files install programs to your phones; they are similiar to the setup.exe files you use on your Windows computer to install software on that, except CAB files only work on Windows Mobile phones.

This was GREAT! With my new phone they turned off my old sim card which had all my contacs. Now I don’t have to go into an at&t store to have them transfer my contacts! I did it from home!

I hate to show my ignorance, but how do you install the cab? I have downloaded it but I have no idea how to get it into the phone.

Ok so…whenever I install this cab file it tells me tht “this program may not install properly bc it was designed for a previous version of windows mobile.”

dmartin – thats fine. It says that because most of the programs were designed for a version of Windows Mobile younger than 6.1. Apps that display this alert will usually work on Windows Mobile 6.0/6.1 — so just click OK and dont worry about it!

what is wrong here? I am not able to copy my contacts. Any idea? Thanks!

So I can get this file on my sd card and when I search I can find it, but it won’t give me an option to open it. What do I do!?
