Some guy named Gregory put together a port of the HTC home screen that run on any Windows Mobile 6 Smartphone. This is a very slick interface and even boasts a integrated Weather forecast (think fizzweather, but FREE!) and a “My People” section that gives you easy access to 8 contacts (unfortunately you can’t access the 8 contacts directly from the home screen).

How to install the HTC Theme

I believe your smartphone must be application unlocked to install this theme.

To configure your Weather location: After installing go to Start > Weather and select your City/Country.

To configure your My People contact list: After installing go to Start > MyPeople and select your favorite 8 contacts.

UPDATE:

• The alarm icon is not tied to the default Windows Mobile Alarms (Start > Organizer > Alarms) application, but to some other application called “Clock & Alarms”.
• Go to: Start > Settings > Display > Home Screen and play around with different Color Schemes and Background images for a different look!

OS X Leopard Theme

I’ve created a OS X Leopard Theme for the Blackjack 2. The theme is FREE to use — I hope you enjoy!

This theme will work for any Windows Mobile 6 Smartphone (non-touchscreen, 320×240 pixel resolution) — Example: Samsung Blackjack II, Motorola Q9, etc.

Faux Yahoo! Theme

Here’s another theme inspired by Yahoo! Go 3.0 Beta! I loved Yahoo! Go 3.0’s look so much (but don’t get to use it since I dont use any of Yahoo!’s online apps) that I made a theme that was inspired by it.

I know it very similar in layout to the other themes on MyBlackjack2.com, but I’m a huge fan on 1 screen themes that don’t use any third party plug-ins. My next theme I’ll try to mix up the placement of the on-screen info, I promise.

Brianberry Bold Themes

Fellow Blackjack 2 owner Brian Wahl (of BrownRoomMedia.com and BrianWahlBand.com fame) created two new backgrounds for MyBlackjack2’s Blackberry Bold Theme. Brian was kind enough to share his creations, and for his efforts and goodwill, I’ve dubbed them the “Brianberry Bold” themes.

Per usual, these themes will work on the Samsung Blackjack 2 and should work on any other Windows Mobile 6 Standard Smartphone.

I was checking out the Blackberry Bold online and thought RIM’s home screen looked pretty sweet – so I whipped up a theme that looked similar – and name the theme after the phone that peaked my curiosity. How to Install a Theme

Here’s a quick tutorial on how to install one of themes I’ve created for MyBlackjack2.com/TheSmartFONE.com. I’ve recently converted all the MyBlackjack2.com/TheSmartFONE.com Themes to be CAB files which allows for easy-installation/removal.

How to install a MyBlackjack2.com/TheSmartFONE.com Theme:

1. Download and install the CAB file to your Smartphone
2. On your Smartphone, navigate to: Start > Settings > Display > Home Screen
3. Set “Home screen layout” to the name of the theme you’d like to use (Ex. “OS X Leopard”)
4. Set “Color scheme” to “Default”
5. Set “Background Image” to “Default”
6. Hit “Done” and go back to your Home Screen

How to install a .ZIP Theme file.
(MyBlackjack2.com/TheSmartFONE.com does not use this method anymore, but you may find themes on other sites that do.)

1. Download the Theme ZIP file
2. Unzip the Theme ZIP file
3. Copy the contents of the Theme ZIP file to /Application Data/Home/ on your Windows Mobile 6 Smartphone
4. On your Smartphone, navigate to: Start > Settings > Display > Home Screen
5. Set “Home screen layout” to the name of the theme you’d like to use (Ex. “OS X Leopard”)
6. Set “Color scheme” to “Default”
7. Set “Background Image” to “Default”
8. Hit “Done” and go back to your Home Screen
