I'm pretty certain there is no default functionality on windows mobile devices that allows you to do that. It's always been push, select, and repeat. Granted, I've been wrong a lot. The problem though is WM requires a two-step process to select a contact, i.e., select contact, then select contact number.
Edit: You may want to give the trial of this program a try and see if it works for you..

Is it possible to save a list? I send text messages to the same group of 4 or 5 people. It would ne nice if I could save the list…

Yes. WinMo does not support distribution lists, but the workaround (for email at least) is to go to contacts, create new, give it a name, then type in the email addresses you want on the distribution list (on one line), separated by a semicolon:
me@yahoo.com;me@gmail.com;etc@mail.com
I think the same should work for numbers, just put them in separated by a semicolon. Note you can only do this from your phone, tyring to do so in outlook on your desktop typically results in an error message.

Im not sure if this is exactly what your talking about but I send the same text message to a bunch of people at the same time. You just click the middle button when your on the to lline select a person, then just repeat until you have everyone you want to send it too then it will send to everyone.

Not exactly what we're looking for, but that's still a pretty cool tip! I actually never knew you could just hit the center button to take you to your contacts…now that in it's self is a real time saver….THANKS!

Ok i think i found out what was wrong! when i'm bout to send a text and i hit the Menu key to bring up the option my message option is grey likes its not working!!!
but when i first got the phone all i hade to do was hit the message options and it woulld let me click the extra names i wanted to send a text too!!!
So should i do a soft reset or a hard one to get that working again!?!? Cause i know it used to work before i had to do the hard rest

Hmm… that's an interesting thought… message options has always been greyed out in txt for me. Its available for both multimedia messages and email. In those GUIs, it has the same functions (more or less) acrross all. i.e., allowing you to set priorities, char-set, etc.

yeah when i first bought mine you was able to click check names and it would let you select the other people you wanted to send multi text too… but now it not highlighted anymore!!! Plus i was wondering why would they have option like that if you can't use them!?!?

I might actually be becoming a believer. I mean, I could've just been smoking something, but I am almost ceratain I was able to go to menu –> folders –> sent items and see what is there from my email account. Or any other folder for that matter. Now after the ole reset, i get a message telling me to click menu and new to create a new message once clicking on the desired folders. I can see the folders, just no way to access the contents of my folders.
Maybe the hard reset is breaking something, I just can't imagine what…
@da23312: Are you able to access different folders in your emails?

That does help quicken things…I just cannot understand why distribution lists are not available.
I send text messages to my tennis team (5 other guys) and it would be nice to just select a list called 'Tennis Team' like I do in Outlook for email.
