 Helpppp…lol…I did the softwar upgrade from the link on page 7 of this thread…Now I open garmin and a page open with 4 links:

Begin Free Trial
Enter Product Key
Connect to a Garmin GPS
What do I do?
Thanks for any and all help. Please forgive me if I've looked over a solution to this….I didnt see it though.

hmm I dont remember seeing this screen??? or maybe I did cant remember what I chose….I probably chose Connect to a Garmin GPS…..try and see what happens??

this is what it keeps saying
and on my phone i can open the garmin xt
but it say scanning for bluetooth
and i click no
and yeh it puts me somewhere in kansas?????

I succesfully installed Garmin but have one quick question,
Everytime I startup Garmin, the little 3G sign appears next to my signal bars in the top right corner.
Everytime I see the 3G sign come up, I go to wireless management options and in the phone section it says Medianet so i turn the phone function off to shut off Medianet.
I already know that using Garmin doesn't use your internet connection but since the 3g sign comes up does this mean that I'm using the internet or Medianet while using the GPS system?
If it means that I'm using the internet, is there a way to turn off Medianet permenantly?
BTW, thx for the awesome hack

Joe480, justy because it says 3g doesnt mean its using internet….thats like saying when your using the phone for txting and ur on 3g your using data….U dont have to worry about it.

ok my garmin xt has worked flawless since i got it installed but for some reason today when i tried to use it opens a error mesage " data type misalignment at program address 0×03f4a4f5c in background thread NULL (main instance)" then it just stays on this sceen and does nothing.. any suggestions to resolve this with out a hard restet i have already uninstalled from my phone and re installed still the same whats weird is it worked fine yesterday….. please help thanks…..

Pukka, thanks so much for all the information on how to set this up it worked great and I was able to find the satellites etc. Now my question for you is if it is worth it to upgrade to the newest version of the garmin program and the procedure in doing that. If you can help out it would be great.

I upgraded to the new version, it has some more eye candy and a couple new features, I just installed the new version overtop the old one, it worked fine, at first it said it was searching for GPS then I restarted it and it worked.
if you have problems you might have to regenerate the keys.

I just updated my blackjack 616 rogers yesterday to WM6.1. and installed garmin which i had saved to my storage card. worked right away for me. i also upgraded to the new version as pukka. i also installed modaco nodata just incase so i dont use data. =) thx for the help all!

Hi,
I am on bj 6.1 and i am considering updating to garmin 5.00 september 25th release. the garmin xt currently works perfectly. anything I should be aware of before I do the update ?
Is there text to speech yet. if not anyone hear if it is in the works ?

if your stuck at scanning bluetooth, theres 2 possible problems, you didnt install the Modaco GPS hack, or your key's you generated arent correct, make sure you follow the tutorial on this thread….Theres no need to restart the whole process, just regenerate the keys or install the Modaco GPS hack, or do both.

I can't seem to get a satellite lock. The program seems to be functioning properly but I can only see 2 sats and they won't lock. It worked once and now won't lock on even after a 1/2 hour.

Before I installed 6.1 i had the gps working but for some reason it stopped working one day. I then updated to 6.1 and installed the garmin software and also did the 5.0 update. I have already installed the modaco gps hack so it does't say scanning bluetooth. it now just keeps saying scanning attached and nothing happens. i have tried using the intermediate driver and com4 and they both say the same thing.

wow am i running into trouble.. have the same issues as other people with the bluetooth on the top left corner.. lets try to solve this since pukka keeps telling people to re do all the steps. frankly, theres no point. what needs to be added to the guide is the gpsid link and modaco activator.
wm 6.1, and bluetooth top left seems to be a few ways.
1) update garmin software- no workie, installs a trial overtop
2) run gpsid and change to com4- gonna try
3) run modaco activator- gonna try.
ill let you know which one works
