"if im not mistaken, because we have gps that comes with our phone, i assume the bluetooth device would only apply to some sort of external gps unit if we didnt have it built in.
but i may be wrong on that. i never scan for anything via bluetooth on mine. its used via the com4 port.
open up garmin, click menu, go to settings, then system, and click remote gps. should say "COM4: COM4:"""
Mine in that category says, "Scanning Bluetooth". Is there a way to manually select the com4 port? On the GPSvp Program there was. I'm just curious where I went wrong in this install?

I've followed the directions to a t and still it asks me for the 8 digit product key. I've re-run the keygen and recopied the two files to my sd card under the Garmin folder. Does anyone have any ideas? Help please!

Okay, so I figured this out and wanted to make it easier to understand for some people (like me). After the update your device ID changes from the original that you used to generate the keys. So when you get the four choices (buy, enter product key, etc…) click connect to garmin gps. Then skip everything go to Tools>Settings>about. There is the new device ID. Use this one to repeat steps 7-13 and it should work.

I have ran into a problem. One time on my fone i coudn't access Garmin mobile, but a few day later it worked fine. Today i was installing it on adiff fone and after it asked if i wanted to install it and i said yes i tried to start the program and it went to the garmin start screen and closed. it is doing the same on the first one i did over a month ago. Why does this happen?

Just wanted to say a major thanks to the original uploader for making the file very easy to use.
i was installing on Vista for my Sony Ericsson X1, and the only thing that threw me was the European Map version didn't have the MapInstall active. You needed to go to Garmin Website to get the MapInstall, but now I have done that everything seems to be working fine.
One Question.
Now I have installed the European version, is it possible to add the American maps, as i am running a 16GB micro SD card, and the entire European Map doesn't even begin to fill it!
also, can i export the American maps to my standalone Garmin nuvi 610?
thanks in advance

I have followed all of the directions to a T three times now, and every time I get to restarting my phone after changing the codes in the 2 files it keeps saying "Searching Bluetooth". Im coping everything correctly and putting them in the correct Garmin folder in the memory card. Can someone help me with this? Ive read other posts about people having the same issue, yet they go unanswered.
Also when I go into the settings to look at the Card ID its says Unlocked.

This tutorial is the greatest. It works like a charm on my BJII. I have already upgraded to the 5.00.20ws version. Thanks PUKKA.

dang does it take 14 hours to download this torrent for anyone else?
Took about 2 hours even though it initially stated much longer.
My problem:
Have tried 3 times. Get to Garmin splash screen on my BJII and after a second I get an error message about Quesp.exe and ask if report to MS. I say no, then everything stops. Think I have not missed anything but must have done something not right. Modaco hack seems to be OK as it shows in "Remove programs". Have read all 20 pages of posts and only noticed a"Quesp.exe" mentioned once-but no real response. Help appreciated. Driving me crazy. Also, when I continue on, even though I am synched, cannot get an ID as it won't recognize my BJII
I'm having the exact same problem. Does anyone have any solutions to this??? Thank you.
