I have installed the software and it appears to be working, but the signal is very poor – 1-2 bars.
When I try to find an address it says "Awaiting Better GPS Accuracy" and that is where it stays.
I know that there is a good GPS signal in my area because we have a Tom Tom and that shows a strong signal.
Any ideas anyone??

I finally got it to work and I have to give HUGE PROBS to pukka…I've been playing with it ever since it got it to work

Have tried 3 times. Get to Garmin splash screen on my BJII and after a second I get an error message about Quesp.exe and ask if report to MS. I say no, then everything stops. I've gotten the same message but mine goes all the way through after I restart Garmin but the map doesnt show up.
So, I was having that same problem with the Quesp.exe error. Here's what I found; it seems to happen because you have the USB cable plugged into the Blackjack with the connection settings set to mass storage. This somehow within the phone disconnects the phone from reading the storage card. Unpug it and it should work.

So I too did the upgrade and I hadn't seen good intructions for the update to the 5.XX release.
Some key things I found and put together via some of the other posts:
- When putting the update onto your SD card you have to do it via a card reader or mass storage setting with the USB cable
- You then have to disconnect the USB cable (if you used that method) to allow the new software to be loaded from SD card to device
- Once it loads you will get the 4 options I have seen mentioned before… purchase…trial…avtivate…find device. Go to the 4th option to find a garmin device and do the same as before…tools…about. Get the device ID
- Proceed to step 8 from the directions and you're golden.

New here. Great site. Problem I am having is that when I try to download the MoDaCo GPS, it says that the bandwidth has been exceeded. Any help would be appreciated.
Found the GPS hack and finished the install. Everything works great!!!
Has anyone had any luck installing Garmin direct to the phone? For instance, if the phone doesn't have the micro SD card, could Garmin be installed to the phone's memory? If so, please explain.

Im not hearing any voice turn by turn prompt.
The first day I installed garmin xt it worked perfect. Then the next day I upgraded to win mobile 6.1. I reinstalled garmin, then on my way to the supermarket i turned on garmin and everything worked except for the voice turn prompt.
I checked my earpeace volume, it is up the max.
I check the profile, it is on Normal.
I checked my audio setting in garmin. Option 1 has volume at 100%. I click on it anyway, as I throttle the volume I hear a beep. I then move on to option 2, voice, it contains nothing for me to select. Should there be something in there? I move to option 3, Voice Prompt, it is enabled.
I dont know what else to do. Can someone help me?

Thanks pukka. I put a memory card in the phone and am trying to install to it. The first time, it installed, but then said the path was incorrect, check it and retry. I have deleted any related files from the phone, restarted the phone and am going to try and install it again. I will keep you posted.

I was directed to this link after seeking to install garmin on my touch pro. I downloaded all required items. Then I started the steps, when I start step 1: CNNANT2009Update_ENU.exe It begins and runs to about 70% and then an error message pops up stating the CAB1 file is missing! As anyone else had this problem? I have downloaded the torrent on 3 different machines using both Azureus and UTorrent and each time the same error. other then that everything leading up to that step worked fine.

Can someone clarify this for me?
From what I understand, using the Garmin Mobile XT only uses GPS satellites at no cost to me. And since the maps are downloaded onto my memory stick, there is no need to ping servers such as Google Maps, meaning I have no need for a data plan.
Does that mean when using Garmin Mobile XT, I do not need a data plan and it will not charge me for any data because no data is transferred?

Yup you got the idea, I dont have a data plan and I use Garmin Mobile XT and never get charged. Theres a setting in Garmin to use Data for traffic updates but you get prompted to enable/disable it.

Hopefully someone can help me as I am really stuck. I have read all the post about GPS and have tried several times to get Garmin working on my i616. Everything is installed and looks correct the hack seems to be installed properly and I get the bars but it NEVER finds a satillite. I have left it outside for over an hour and nothing. I get the "Com 4 Com 4 " ok and the bars. If I change to bluetooth and turn on my remote blue tooth receiver it works great. The only I see that looks strange is that in the Garmin folder in the storage card there is another Garmin folder under the first one, is that correct? The files with the codes are in the Garmin folder in the main menu on the storage card.
Hopefully someone can help as I love it when I use the bluetooth receiver.

2. Open the installation folder, the folder where you installed the program 1 minute ago, and open the folder "MapSource" within that. Create a shortcut of the file "MapSource.exe" in your desktop.
WHERE IN THE WORLD IS "MapSource.exe"
PLEASE SOMEONE HELP

After I downloaded the torrent and tried installing Mapsource (the first step) my computer said the source file was not found and i was forced to quit the installation. help please!

I can't seem to get through the first step. When I try to install "Mapsource" a window keeps poppping up saying that the source file is not found. What was I supposed to do with the torrent after I downloaded it?

nevermind my last posts, i got it. i just downloaded the newer garmin mobile XT and i have a problem with using it. when i open the new garmin it brings me to a page that says "purchase and go" , "begin with free trial", "enter product key" and "connect to a garmin gps" what do i do now?

Choose connect to a garmin gps, get the id then follow the steps

Hey Jerry, I had the same problem too, you probably installed the new version which is just an update. it doesn't include the voice commands. Intall the old version in the torrent first, then do then update.
