The Modaco gps hack just enables the phones intermediate GPS driver to run on other application such as garmin, When a program is opened that uses GPS that's when the GPS receiver turns on ( it will turn on automatically ), If your hitting the blue-tooth screen then you managed to skip or copy something incorrectly as those files in the Garmin Folder skip that step and tell the GPS to use the phones internal GPS.
When you close the GPS software it will turn off the GPS.

finally!!!!! got this to work!!!!! thanks pukka.
on step #13 "Copy the 2 files, "gmapsupp.unl" and "sw.unl", that now should contain codes generated from the keygen, and paste them in the folder "Garmin" in your SD card. a.You can use the explorer to get there while the mobile device is conected to the pc, or you can just plug the card into the pc’s card reader and get there that way."
my problem was i pasted to folder on device marked "Garmin", not to the SD card folder marked "Garmin". pasted to the right folder, viola! this has made my week. i can now re-grow my hair.
its the little things in life that keep us happy. thanks again.

Hey Moneydart
Its stated in my tutorial how to do this in step 7 you must open Garmin Mobile XT on your phone, go to Settings—->>About—>>Now write down the 9 or 10 digit CARD ID this is your unit ID. Then proceed the tutorial.

Problems I encountered during the installation process (learn from my mistakes!)
1. Download the torrent from vuze (azureus), not limewire! Limewire reached 40% after 24 hours and then stopped. Vuze only took about 8 hours (still a long time, but better than limewire).
2. Unzip the file and save it on your computer's hard drive, not on a removable drive. Leaving the file zipped does not work.
3. When it comes time to save the 2 codes on your device, make sure they are saved in the Garmin folder. If they are saved anywhere else, you'll get the "scanning bluetooth" icon instead of the "bars (searching for satelites)" icon.

yes ZMAN, do not use Limewire for anything torrent related, limewire isnt an actual torrent client and iss not optimised for downloading them.

Thx Pukka for that helpful answer now ive done all that but instead of scroll icon or bars i have the bluetooth sign with a magnifying glass on it. What should i do now? Zman could you help me?

If you believe that you have done everything right and you have reached the end and everything works except the bluetooth/bars part, then you probably saved the two codes somewhere besides the Garmin folder. These two codes must be saved in the Garmin folder for it to work properly. If that's not the problem, then you may need to go back and do the keygen again.

Ye moneydart, you must get the codes exactly and put the new files into the garmin folder located on your phones memory card, once this is done restart the phone and if done properly youu shouldnt see a bluetooth icon.

I posted earlier about the Treo/BJ2 thing. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong, but I cannot download Garmine Mobile XT Torrent. I'm following the link provided and have also tried it in the URL for Vuze. Any suggestions?

I wouldn't worry to much about it you can still access some backdoor links to piratesbay which means its not completely gone, probably just some maintenance just give it a little and it should be up and running
