Ok, first off im running VISTA soo this sorta sucks when it comes to downloads, I downloaded Azureus and also the torrent it provideds right above it in the install guide. Everything downloaded perfectly. Now when im going to start on step 1, i click "CNNANT2009Update_ENU.exe" and accept everything it tells me to, but on step 1 part d., my default is not c:\garmin\, so i clicked the garmin folder for my destination, and i click ok. It replies with a window saying "The folder path "?" contains an invalid character". I then clicked ok and the destination said c:\garmin\. I pressed install and it started right up, but right before it finished it said

"source file not found:"
C:\users\(my user name)\AppData\local\Temp\Temp1_Garmin 2009 North America NT Complete – Repack by Restrected\…\Disk1.cab. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.

Can anyone explain to me why it says that? help would be greatly appreciated!!

Another question,
Do i need the torrent that endless posted right after the walkthrough? im confused at which one i really need, one says 2008 and the one at the beginning says 2009 maps.

Ok well i extracted the main file, and now i had no problem downloading "CNNANT2009Update_ENU.exe" and when i ran "all.bat" it took around a minute, but the last thing it said on the black screen was something about " (insert whatever) is not a detailed map." and that was the last thing it said, besides press any key, so i hit ENTER like the instructions said, and it still closed the window… did this work properly? nothing else happened after that.
I noticed that when i went back and clicked "all.bat"
It says (word for word minus the file directory):

does this mean it installed correctly?

wayoinc128, glad that you figured it out, I read your first post and was just about to tell you to extract the files to your computer. And for your last post, If it says Not Locked then you have succesfully unlocked the maps hope that clarifies everything now just follow the remaining steps and you should be running Garmin Mobile XT in no time.

Yeah, it sucks though… i ordered my new BJII from ebay and its taking USPS longer than they said to ship. So im hoping its going to be here monday.
So i have to wait till then to test it out!! Funny thing is, i didnt know that there was a torrent for this garmin product, so i bought the actual $99 garmin mobile XT from ebay, for $78. Im waiting on that to get here as well, so if this works, ill turn around and sell it to get my money back!!
I know you and David might get alil tired of answering all these help questions, but im glad you do. I usually figure out things by myself pretty easily but i may get stuck here and there, so thank you in advance for all your hard work and help!!
ONE MORE important thing, do i need to download any of that stuff 'endless' posted right after your walkthrough?? or can i just download the torrent you provided and be set with the full up to date 2009 garmin?

No I actually dont recomend installing any of the stuff that Endless posted(doesnt mean it wont work its just ive never tested it)…he actually posted that because when I first put the turtorial up I forgot to mention step 7's workaround now that the workaround is posted everything should work flawlessly.

So glad to find this site. I was finally able to install modaco's gps hack properly. (thanks to ur how-to install the cab file) Anyways, I am trying to install the Garmin XT file onto my BJ2 and I always get the missing components and missing quesp error message. How do I go about fixing this?? Thanks for ur help and I look forward to reading more on this site tomorrow! ( Love the math questions! haha.)

PUKKA..Thanks for the garmin.. I got it working finally..but my GPS locates me riding a boat in middle of atlantic ocean @ speed of 100 mph!!!! It doesnt come to land…. Before I uploaded the maps, it was showing right location but once I loaded all the USA/CA maps, it shows me in that ocean….. Any ideas!!!!

Chester, it sounds like you havent unzipped the file to your computer, do this before you start the tutorial
as for bix, im pretty sure theres a setting in garmin somewhere that makes it stick to roads only…..take a look around in the settings, ill look into and post the direct way.

Awesome post. Got it working, and wonderfully i might add. but there is one small little glitch i say is pretty annoying.
when you click "where to" and then "my location" you can't to the last entry (the last location) unless you know the name of that entry and "spell" it out. Now this only occurs when you have more than 4 saved locations, and it may only occur for me, but is anyone else experiencing this little nusiance?

I deleted everything and re-extracted al the files and double checked that "QueSp.exe" was in the folder. I still get the same error . . however QueSp is found inside the files and when I click on it . . . . Garmin XT opens up. Weird. . . . also when I opened up GarminXT the program isnt fully functional. Hopefully, I will catch you online. Thanks for ur help and I look forward to seeing ur reply.

IT TOTALLY WORKS. HONESTLY IT PROBABLY TOOK ME ABOUT 5 HRS(INCLUDING THE DOWNLOAD) BUT IT WAS TOTALLY WORTH IT. I JUST SAVED SO MUCH MONEY.
