I wonder if it's possible to update to the software version 4.20.50w without a problem. Has anyone tried this?

Alright! Well i just updated it also without a hitch. But there was one thing that confused me at first. It doesn't use COM4. Instead it uses the GPS Intermediate Device. But even so it still working wonderfully.

finally!!!!! got this to work!!!!! thanks pukka.
on step #13 "Copy the 2 files, "gmapsupp.unl" and "sw.unl", that now should contain codes generated from the keygen, and paste them in the folder "Garmin" in your SD card. a.You can use the explorer to get there while the mobile device is conected to the pc, or you can just plug the card into the pc’s card reader and get there that way."
my problem was i pasted to folder on device marked "Garmin", not to the SD card folder marked "Garmin". pasted to the right folder, viola! this has made my week. i can now re-grow my hair.
its the little things in life that keep us happy. thanks again.

Hello Pukka,
I followed the procedure exactly. I couldnt get the unit ID from the mapsource.exe so I found it from my phone like you explained and continued with the procedure. I am getting the scanning the bluetooth message everytime I try to open the Garmin XT application . I tried to regenerate the code so I open the Garmen XT application from the start menu skipped the scanning the bluetooth message and in the menu/settings/about instead of Card Id it now says Unlock ESN. But the number is same. I repeated the steps from 7 to 13 and restarted but no use, it still says scanning bluetooth. I appreciate any help. Thanks for your time and keep up the good work

Can anybody help me out? I've followed the installation instructions step by step and when I start up Garmin is just says "Scanning Bluetooth" but I cannot get it to connect to the GPS. I know that other members have had this problem. Has anybody come up with a solution yet?

You have to do the GPS & Application Unlocker in the hacks section. Without it the GPS program can't access the GPS reciever.

Hi,
I m installing Garmin XT on my device (BlackJack II) directly and not using the card for the same.
I followed all the steps till 4th steps and then during 5th steps I am getting error that "Cant run Autorun.exe" and then the Garmin installer stops. And then I cant move ahead sequencially.
So I went to BlackJack II device folder and tried to Autorun.exe under 2577 folder. It failed saying "Cant find Garmin Mobile XT" and "QueSP". Then I ran QuePPC and QueSP files directly. Thus I reached to 6th step. I know I am missing few things and that is causing this problem. But I cant get any clue for that. It seems that the software is not properly installed on device and it will not work.
When I run MapSource.exe and start Get Unit ID, that too fails. As it shows proper device in Device list but it gives "0″ as the unit ID and using that I cant generate any key for sw.unl file. So I generated key for gmapsupp.unl file and replace the same in device under Garmin folder.
I dont know how to proceed for this.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks

Hey, it seems as though you havent followed step 7 which indicates that you must open Garmin Mobile XT onto your phone and go into the settings—>>about—>>then copy down your card ID.
Jus to let everyone know im now back from vacation and will try to get to all your replies

Did you extract the zipped file to your harddrive first?

Giri that seems odd that it would change to "unlock ESN" as that would mean it is unlocked….It may be buggy with the memory card, it will probably be hassles but try formating the memory card and retrying from the begining, I know this hack still works ive done it recently to my friends and sisters phone.

Boing33, did you try and see what profile your on? if your on vibrate or on silent it wont work, you should also check your earpiece volume on the side of the bj2.

Yes both the profile and earpiece volume are on the correct settings but I'm getting no sound still. I'm wondering if i missed a file or something during the install. Should i try to remove it and start over? I do get a beeping noise when selecting which mode to use so some sounds are working, just not the navigation

so you did go to garmin—>>settings—->>audio—->>enable "Voice Prompt" correct?? and changed the Volume to 100% in those settings?
EDIT: Just a little tip, you must be driving to actually here the voice prompt as if your sitting still it wont tell you anything because your not aproaching any route.
