I really want to get this software to work. I tried twice. after the first time i reset the phone to factory settings. everything worked both times except the damn thing wont find any satellites. when i go to view map it sayes searching for satellites. when i try to go to a destination by punching in the info it works fine until i hit go…. then it says awaiting better gps accuracy. the phone thinks i am in kansas at garmin international headquarters and im in ct!!!! the home page displays a constant 2 out of 5 bars for reception. i noticed that the rear deal garmin gps recievers that my friends have get about the same. when ever i open the software and click veiw map it acts as if i am not moving even if i am on a highway in a car. i tried using good maps and it works but i would rather use this. i followed all the directions to the “T” there is no bluetooth icon on the home screen…. if i click on the bars it says “COM4:COM4:” i had to have done something wrong because i know the gps works. i would just pay for it but im not sure if thats even going to work either. its so close to working….. also i downloaded the full us map on the phones card.

Sorry about the dumb question, but this is my first smart phone and my first attempt at a “hack” and I'm already lost on step 1…
I downloaded Vuze and used it to download the torrent. I then unzipped ”Garmin 2009 North America NT Complete - Repack by Restrected” on my PC's hard drive. When I look for this file “CNNANT2009Update_ENU.exe”, I can only find one with the same name, but this extension: .msi
Is this a Vista thing I should just ignore, or am I looking in the wrong place for the .exe file?
Thanks for the help.

Be patient in waiting for reception, your location is a big factor in locating the satellites, make sure your outside with an open sky, let it sit for 3-5 minutes to lock satellites. I find on mine as well if it shows 2 bars you cant get anywhere, you need full bars for it to work properly work which means you must have locked 4 satellites (gps only works when there are 4 locked satellites)…..just be patient

is your phone aplication unlocked? Im not really sure what would be causing such a glitch?? are there any other programs running when it happens??? Im sure a hard reset would do the trick but thats last resort.

the modaco gps activator is in my remove programs list ….
i have facade and phonealarm running on my homescreen, but that's it. the program is listed on my start menu, and when i select it, the program goes to the splash screen, then back to the start menu. if i go to my task manager the only things running are activesync and something called paInit (whatever that is). i'd rather not hard reset after i just got everything up and running yesterday. if that's the case i'll just uninstall and go without.

Great great find pukka! I love it, works like a charm! The only thing I've noticed, using it for 20 minutes , is that my phone reception either cuts out, “freezes” or doesn't find service. Is this a common deal or is it just my imagination?

hbcbob3, maybe it was your location I know for fact that my phone works while using the gps, I used my gps to get to a beach about 2 hours away and had calls during that time and reception was fine except for some dead spots (went way out in the country). I had it hooked up to a power source however….but im sure it shouldnt make a difference

I am also having exact same issue. Goog Map works with GPS.
But Garmin is trying to find the GPS , but it fails.. Please let me know if you find any solution.

Ultimatix, You can always try and install the new Software update from garmin (click here), this is the newest garmin software however with this update you still have to follow the same procedures listed in this guide by just replacing the Garmin Installer with this newer one. It may just fix your problem as it will use the Intermediate drivers for the gps instead of COM4.
Give this a try and let me know how it works.
Also make sure you have Modaco GPS hack installed correctly.

Yeah…I got a little ahead of myself. Service in my area can be crappy sometimes. But yeah, it still works. The whole thing works great, I'm psyched!
