I havent done anything recently with my BJII…no downloads, change of themes, hacks, anything but all the sudden its extremely slow and will just freeze up, particularly when texting. It takes over a minute just to send a text message! Any ideas how to fix this? I thought about a hard reset, but doesnt that lose all your data and contacts?

You may have too many programs stacked up and hogging memory. Hold the home key down until task manager comes up. highlight each program with the scroll wheel and end task. repeat until all are gone.
You can also, remove the battery while the BJ2 is on, replace battery and restart.

What theme are you using right now? I know certain themes made my phone drag.

I've had the exact same thing happen to me just a few days ago. I finally had to just switch to my old phone. I don't know what the deal is, I'm using one of the themes that came standard on the phone and I check my task manager and I'll only have my mssaging open. In the past, sometimes when i would be typing out a message the phone would have to "catch up" with me on the screen but this would never take longer than a few seconds, now it never catches up and i have to close messaging all together! Also i couldn't receive any messages. I don't know what to do because i really dont want to do a hard reset. I tried syncing all my files to my computer but it seemed like the one thing i wanted the most (which are my notes in notepad) would not sync!

Is there any way to "explore" the phone while connected and manually grab the notepad files? I can't imagine that it's not possible.
In the end, I suppose you need to just suck it up and do a hard reset. I mean, what's worse, losing a few notes, or using your BJ as a paperweight?

lol, BuffaloSS has a point. The only way to back up your notes is to email them to yourself. This may take awhile but since they arent saved into a file format then this is your only option. I just tried searching all over the phone and didnt find the notes anywhere. I know there is a folder in My Documents that is labeled for notes but nothing gets saved into it automatically. Not even using the Office Mobile Application "One Note Mobile". But emailing them to yourself like a i mentioned earlier is the only way not to lose them.

….or do a screen capture of every note if they're really important to you. Would probably be a LOT faster than email. Transferring photos/jpegs is no problem with this phone.

Email would be much faster if you set them all in the outbox, ready to be sent. Yes it would take forever if you hit send/recieve on all of them but you can just send them all at once. At least then they would be in a text based format and could be copy/paste/ and edited. Also if you used a screen capture app and the note is more then one page you would have to make sure they all stayed together. Mix them up just one time while transfering them and you would have a lot more work to do.

on 6.1 you should be able to copy and pasted them to email yourself copies.
If they are really really important…take the time and tyoe them out on your pc to preserve them

Theres no need to copy/paste. In the menu there is an email option.

haha fortunately i am not one of tiger's many alleged GF's, my notes have things like user id's and i use my notes to log my hours for community service and just a bunch of other really random things. if i liked a song i heard on the radio i would put it in my notes and download it later. i just really relied on the note application way too much apparently. also i did not upgrade to wm6.1 for this very reason, i didnt want to lose the notes. i've already taken the time to write the really important notes into a notebook tho so maybe i should just do the hard reset.
