does anyone know how to use the ringtones for the text messaging sound? I used to be able to do this when I had an original blackjack. I have downloaded ringtones from phonezoo but i can only use them as a ringtone not as a text messaging sound (the sound the phone makes when you receive a text message. Thanks

pukka/endlessoul,

agreed -- phonezoo kinda of cripples you since it maxes ringtones out at 30 seconds. Apps like Audacity/Windows Movie Maker will surely give you much better control over the process. I like phonezoo.com because it provides a very simple to use interface and it facilitates delivering the ringtone to your phone. There are still alot of people that don't know how/don't care to know how to transfer files between their blackjack 2 and computer.

I might have to do round-up of the best client site ringtone "generator" apps though for those of us that want that finer level of control - as always - thanks for the suggestions and input!

Or you could just edit your MP3s in Audacity.

There's likely better editing tools on it, too.

Just for a tip if you would like to create your own ringtones but would rather not install any programs you can use Windows Movie Maker and it comes on every computer pre installed. Follow the directions below to create your own ringtones with any size or bitrate

1. Open Windows Movie Maker

2. On the Left hand side it will say "Import" below it will say "Audio or Music" click this radio button

3. Select the song you would like to modify

4. Drag the Audio file into the Audio timeline

5. Now you can change the length and time or cut out a clip of what you would like

6. Once your audio preference is complete On the left hand side you will see a "Publish to" click on the "This Computer" radio button. Then follow thhe steps in making it the right size and format. Very quick and easy way to create custom ringtones.
